ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Russian ambassador to Pakistan Alexey Y. Dedov has said that the MI 35 helicopter will be delivered to Pakistan as soon as the contract is signed.
In an interview with Radio Pakistan on Thursday, the Russian envoy said that negotiations are underway for the delivery of MI 35 helicopters to Pakistan and it has been politically approved.
The ambassador said that Russia and Pakistan have signed different agreements for military cooperation, adding that the two countries are also cooperating in other sectors including energy.
The Russian envoy said that much progress has been achieved on the gas pipeline project between Russia and Pakistan. He said that the draft agreement for the gas pipeline project has been tabled with the Pakistani government.
Dedov said that the project from Port Qasim to Karachi will be completed by the Global Resources Company. He said that after the state guarantees and vetting of the agreement by the Pakistani side the project will be implemented.
Russia supports Pakistan’s efforts for peaceful solution of Yemen crises
Talking about Pakistan’s role in Yemen crises, the Russian ambassador said that his country has supported Pakistan’s efforts for peaceful resolution of the Yemen issue through political and diplomatic means.
The ambassador said that it is the responsibility of the international community to play its role for the peaceful solution of the Yemen issue. He said that efforts should be made to engage the stakeholders in meaningful dialogue.
Russia welcomes Pakistan’s role for Afghan peace, reconciliation
The Russian envoy further said that Russia welcomes Pakistan’s role for peace and reconciliation in Afghanistan.
Alexey Y. Dedov said that Pak-Afghan relations are moving in a positive direction. He said that the defence cooperation between the two countries has improved that will help eradicate the menace of terrorism from the region.
