Sindh govt unveils budget 2015-16 with total outlay of Rs739.3 billion

KARACHI, Pakistan: The Sindh government on Saturday presented its budget for the next financial year 2015-16 with a total outlay of around Rs739.3 billion and under which, 10 percent relief allowance has been announced on basic pay for all provincial government employees.

The budget was present by the Sindh Finance Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah in the Sindh assembly, announcing that the total receipts for the next financial year are estimated at Rs727 billion as against budget estimate of Rs672 billion for current financial year showing an overall increase of 8.2 percent.

The finance minister said that the budget shows an overall increase of 7.7 percent as against the budget estimate of Rs686 billion for current financial year.

Murad Ali Shah said that the development expenditure of the Sindh province is estimated at Rs213.6 billion which includes provincial Annual Development Program of Rs177 billion.

In his budget, the Sindh finance minister said that current revenue expenditure of the province is estimated at Rs503.34 billion against budget estimate of Rs436.09 billion for current financial year indicating increase of 15.4 percent.

Earlier, the Sindh Cabinet gave its approval to the budget proposals for the annual budget 2015-16.

The approval was given during a cabinet meeting held at the Sindh Assembly presided over by the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah.
