The media reports said that the fresh air strikes were carried out in Shawal area of the North Waziristan tribal region during which 10 terrorists were killed.

However, the identity of the killed militants have not been confirmed yet.

Earlier on Tuesday, 18 terrorists were killed in air strikes in Shawal area of North Waziristan after jet fighters pounded terrorists’ hideouts and destroyed several of them.

The air strikes are part of a full-fledged military operation dubbed as ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ which the Pakistan armed forces launched in June last year against different outlawed militant outfits after the peace talks with insurgent groups suspended caused by a militant attack on the Jinnah International Airport in Karachi.

On August 12, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif visited the front lines in Waziristan to review the progress of ongoing operations in the volatile tribal region.

In his address to the troops during his visit, the army chief said that the military operation ‘Zarb-e-Azb’ is in its final stages in the North Waziristan agency.
