Pakistan running awareness campaign to highlight importance of charity
Rawalpindi, Pakistan: Secretary Information and Broadcasting, Chaudhry Muhammad Azam Saturday has said Pakistan is a leading charitable country in the world and urged people to give donation to genuine organizations to ensure welfare of poor.
He said the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting is also running awareness campaign to highlight importance of giving donations to deserving people and organizations. According to APP news agency, he was addressing a function as chief guest, organised here by Anjuman Faiz-ul-Islam, a charitable organization, in connection with Quaid-e-Azam death anniversary, Defense Day and Independence Day.
He also appreciated the welfare and eductional achievements of the Anjuman Faiz-ul-Islam.Chaudhry Muhammad Azam called on students to follow the message ,” Unity, Faith and Discipline” of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
He said the country got freedom after unprecedented sacrifices of forefathers and now it is responsibility of youth to demonstrate unity and cohesion to ensure prosperity and progress of the country.
The Secretary said the country’s future is in safe hands as students have deep understandings of current challenges being faced by the nation.
He also shared his memories with students about 1965 War when national spirit was very high to defend country and said the whole nation raised charity for this purpose.
Earlier, students of Anjuman-e-Islam participated in tableau, national songs and debate competition about the personality of Father of the Nation.
The Secretary Information appreciated the extra-curricular activities of students and distributed awards and shields among students and teachers of Anjuman-e-Islam.
President, Anjuman-e-Islam Saddiq Akbar said the Anjuman is now a leading charitable educational and social welfare organizations of country and is well known for its remarkable services for the caase of orphans, poor and neglected classes of the society.
