Rehabilitation plan for Islamabad will start from Friday
Islamabad, Pakistan: Work on up-gradation and rehabilitation plan of the Federal Capital would commence from Friday and will be completed on war footing basis.
The work would be started in all sectors of the city simultaneously to upgrade the basic civic amenities and rehabilitation as well as for further beautification of the entire city. Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Maroof Afzal issued these directions while chairing a high level meeting here at CDA Headquarters on Tuesday. On this occasion, Member Administration and Estate, Amer Ali Ahmed, Member Engineering, Shahid Sohail and officers of the concerned formations of the Authority were also present.
Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal directed the Member Engineering to supervise the up-gradation and city rehabilitation work personally. Chairman was apprised that up-gradation work would be initiated in all residential and commercial areas of the Capital City simultaneously, which would include road infrastructure, repair and maintenance of footpaths, installation of signboards, repair and carpeting of roads, lane marking of roads and avenues and other civic amenities. He was further apprised that the contract of this special plan has been awarded to the contractor, adding that work on the plan would formally start from Friday. During the rehabilitation and up-gradation activity, availability of required machinery and other resources would be ensured. Chairman CDA was also informed that all parks in the city, especially the parks in populated sectors would be upgraded and more facilities would be added for the public. Funds for up-gradation and city rehabilitation plan have been allocated on priority, he added.
Under the plan, beautification work would also include up-gradation of landscaping of prominent intersections and chowks and sapling of plants and seasonal flowers. Chairman CDA, Maroof Afzal directed the Director Market and Roads Maintenance to execute the development work with quality and standard and ensure timely completion of rehabilitation and up-gradation so that the beauty of the city could be restored and the residents of the Islamabad could benefit and avail the basic civic amenities.
