ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A total of 821 terror incidents took place in Pakistan from January to August 2015 which caused deaths of at least 588 Pakistanis, the interior ministry told on Tuesday.

In its written reply to the Senate, the ministry said that 10,007 Pakistanis sustained injuries when insurgents carried out terror acts across the country during the said period.

The interior ministry further told that at the moment 10 military courts are functioning across the country and the establishment of 11th court is under process.

Income of Railways increased by 70%: Senate informed

Separately, the Upper House of the Parliament was informed that income of Pakistan Railways has been increased from Rs18 billion to Rs32 billion during last two years.

Replying questions on behalf of Railways Minister in the House, the Information Minister Pervaiz Rasheed said that income of Railways has been increased by 70 percent besides manifold increase in its passenger traffic.

The information minister said that 16 Railways Stations are being upgraded.

To another question, he said that improvement of Railway network is included in the early harvest programme under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

Rasheed said that the government is simultaneously developing all means of communication in the country.

492,000 foreigners are currently residing in Pakistan

The Minister of State for Interior Baligh-ur-Rehman informed the House that the number of foreigners other than diplomats presently residing in Pakistan is about 492,000.

The minister told that these foreigners arrived in the country in 2007.
