QUETTA, Pakistan: A suspected suicide blast struck an Imambargah in Balochistan’s Bolan district on Thursday that left at least 10 persons killed and more than 20 injured.
The explosion took place in Bolan Chalgri Imambargah located in Bhag area of Bolan.
The police did not rule out the possibility of a suicide blast.
The Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti confirmed the blast said that 10 people were martyred and several others were injured who were immediately shifted to Bhag hospital for medical treatment.
The latest blast which struck the Imambargah in Bolan occurred when Muharram-ul-Haram is being observed across the country.
The Imambargahs thought out the country are crowded with people these days to attend various religious events being held in connection with the holy month.
The provincial governments have chalked out special security plans to ensure the peaceful occurrence of religious gatherings and processions during Muharram.
However Balochistan, which as compared to other provinces have witnessed more terror acts in the past, requires further strict security measures to be adopted across the province to avoid any possible untoward situation.
It was the second blast which was carried out in Balochistan since the inception of Muharram-ul-Haram this year.
Earlier on October 19, at least 11 people lost their lives while nearly 20 others including two children sustained injuries when a blast took place in a passenger bus on Quetta’s Saryab road.
