MUZAFFARABAD, Pakistan: A boy was reportedly killed and seven other people injured on Monday besides damages to property in Azad Kashmir in wake of earthquake measuring 8.1 on Richter Scale, police said.
A 12-year-old boy Muhammad Rizwan had died and his two fellows were injured when a wall of the Veterinary Hospital collapsed due to earthquake in Mirpur Azad Kashmir, police reporting the incidents here said. Aftershock was also reported of 4.7 magnitude that came from 45 km East of Farkhar, Afghanistan.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Muhammad Nazir Told APP that two women Farooq Jan wife of Abdul Latif and Zohra B B wife of Muhammad yousaf were injured when the wall collapsed during the jolts at Kohori town some 20 kilometers from here.
Two persons Nisar Muhammad s/o Mir Muhammad and Bibi Jan widow of Wali Muhammad were injured when roof of house collapsed at Sarli Sach village in the outskirts of Muzaffarabad, the police said.
Another woman Sundas Begum was injured in a wall collapse incident at Kohori town.
The communication department has reported that the road network was badly damaged in different parts of Azad Kashmir due to the earthquake and the department was working hard to restore road links.
