KABUL, Afghanistan: The US Secretary of State John Kerry on Friday expressed hope to find a solution for Afghanistan’s disputed election; however, he said that legitimacy of the election recently held in the war-torn country hangs in the balance.
“The election legitimacy hangs in the balance. The future potential of the transition hangs in the balance,” Kerry told reporters in Kabul where he is for talks in an effort to broker a resolution to the disputed presidential election.
Meanwhile, after a meeting with John Kerry, the Afghan presidential hopeful Ashraf Ghani said that he is agree to an intensive audit of votes.
Ghani said that the audit would help ensure the integrity and the legitimacy that the people of Afghanistan and the world will believe in.
