QUETTA: The Balochistan government and the opposition on Thursday reached a consensus on the name of Ghaus Bakhsh Barozai for the caretaker chief minister of the province, Dispatch News Desk (DND) reported.
Chief Minister Nawab Raisani and Opposition leader Nawabzada Tariq Magsi made the announcement regarding the nomination of Ghaus Bakhsh Barozai as caretaker CM in a joint press conference.
Tariq Magsi said opposition had reached consensus on the name of Barozai and Chief Minister Raisani has also agreed on this name, while Chief Minister Raisani said representatives had illustrated political maturity.
The coalition partners in Nawab Raisani’s government, which include the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F), Awami National Party (ANP), Balochistan National Party Awami (BNP-A)  and some independent members, had nominated Jam Kamal Khan, former chief justice Amanullah Yaseenzai and Justice (retd) Ahmed Khan Lashari for the post
While the opposition leader and his allies, which include Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) Balochistan chapter president Sadiq Umrani and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leader Jaffer Khan Mandokhel, had named Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Barozai, Sardar Saleh Bhootani and Hussain Bakhsh Bangulzai in their list of candidates.
Ghaus Baksh Barozai will be sworn in as the caretaker chief minister of Balochistan on March 23.
