ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: In Connection with the 141st birth anniversary of the national poet Allama Iqbal, ‘Allama Muhammad Iqbal Conference’ will be held in Islamabad on Thursday (November 8, 2018).
The day-long event will be organized by Muslim Institute, a research based think-tank dedicated to promoting peace, stability, prosperity and leadership in Muslims and the World at large.
The Chairman Senate Committee on Defence Product Lt General (retd) Abdul Qayyum will be the Chief Guest at the Conference.
Whereas Grandson of Allama Muhammad Iqbal Mr. Waleed Iqbal Advocate, Ambassador of Tajikistan to Pakistan H.E. Sherali Jonov and Ambassador of Poland to Pakistan H.E. Piotr Opalinski will be the Guests of Honour.
The inaugural session of ‘Allama Muhammad Iqbal Conference’ will begin with recitation of the Holy Quran and Naatia Kalam-e-Iqbal followed by the opening remarks by the Chairman Muslim Institute Sahibzada Sultan Ahmad Ali and the keynote speech by the Director, Islamic World Studies Program, Loyola University Chicago, USA Professor Dr. Marcia Hermansen.
The second session named ‘Iqbal in Education and Academia’ will include addresses by Mr. Riaz Ahmed, Dr Umair Mahmood Siddiqui and Dr Muhammad Idrees while the third session ‘Iqbal’s Teaching for Spiritual Edification and Character Buidling’ will have remarks by Dr. Shoaib Afridi, Professor Dr. Syed Asad Hussain Shah, Professor Dr. Suheyl Umar and Professor Dr. Marcia Hermansen.
Senator Raja Zafar Ul Haq as the Chief Guest, Professor Jalil Ali, Professor Dr. Izharullah Izhar, Dr. Nadeem Shafiq Malik, Air Vice Marshal (retd) Faaiz Amir, and Sahibzada Sultan Ahmad Ali will speak in the fourth session.
While the fifth session ‘Cultural Musical Evening with Kalam-e-Iqbal’ will include Kalam-e-Iqbal by Raja Hamid Ali.
Kalam-e-Iqbal and presentation of the Conference Souvenir will also feature in every session.
