KARACHI/LONDON: On the insistence of party workers, the MQM chief Altaf Hussain on Sunday withdrew his decision to quit the party leadership. He warns UK not try to implicate him in murder case of Dr. Imran Farooq.
Earlier, in an expected development after deep investigations of Imran Farooq murder case, Altaf Hussain, the founder of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement has resigned as chief of the party and said in a telephonic address to his workers and mediamen that he was voluntarily handing over all authority and responsibilities as party leader to the MQM’s Rabita (Coordination) Committee.
Speaking to media via telephone from UK, on Sunday morning he maintained that Scotland Yard police had raided his residence some days ago and had seized some material, following which he decided to voluntarily step down as party leader on moral grounds.
