LONDON: The bail application of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Altaf Hussain has been rejected by the Metropolitan Police Service London (MPS) also known as Scotland Yard.

The MQM leader was arrested earlier in the day from his residence in north-west London by the counter terrorism squad on charges of money laundering but the MQM has denied that any arrest had happened.
A spokesman of the British High Commission in Islamabad said that only London Police can confirm the arrest.
