Aman ki Aasha—India again shot down dove

EditorialAman ki Aasha—India again shot down dove

During a couple of weeks, Indians look very hostile towards Pakistan. This is not first time that Aman Ki Aasha has shot down with an Indian bullet. Kashmir is again a flash point, confirming the fact that no Aman Ki Assha is possible between two arch rivals unless bone of contention—Kashmir issue is resolved under the given parametres decided by United Nations half a century ago.

Indian troops killed a Pakistani soldier on February 14, 2013 who had mistakenly crossed the Line of Control (LoC) in Khol Ratta sector. Retired army officials of both sides are calling this act as “inhuman and brutal” because this had been a normal case that foot soldiers of both the countries crossed border mistakenly and were handed over back to respective commander after normal interrogation because border between the two countries is not properly marked.

According to media reports, Pakistan army soldier, sepoy Ikhlaq, lost his way between two posts and inadvertently crossed over LOC in Khol Ratta sector. A few civilians present close to the incident saw him being questioned by the Indian army and after proper identification of this soldier, he was shot dead in his chest like a dove because he was unarmed and he just lost his way. When DGMOs of two countries spoke on the hot line, Indian DGMO confirmed that he had been killed by their troops. Indians have agreed to hand over his body. That is good that Indians will hand over the dead body of this soldier and his family will see his face before his is buried because this week Indians did not allow and hand over the dead body of Afzal Guru to his family after his hanging in Tahar jail of New Delhi.

Hostile behaviour of Indians has become intimidating after Pakistan Army announced that it will concentrate on its Western borders to fight against Taliban who had killed around 35,000 Pakistanis during the war on terror. Now Indians are confirming that they do not wish to leave Pakistan to fight against terrorists and wish to engage Pakistan Army again at Eastern borders. This is confirmed indirect support to  terrorists and major players who are spreading terrorism all over the world.

These incidents are enough to open eyes of those media giants of both the countries who are of the view that Aman Ki Aasha can work without solving Kashmir issue.
