ABU DHABI, UAE: The Ambassador of Pakistan to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Faisal Niaz Tirmizi has presented his credentials as the Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) at the IRENA Headquarters in Abu Dhabi on Thursday.
The letter of credentials was received by the Director-General IRENA Francesco La Camera.
On the occasion, Ambassador Faial Tirmizi reiterated Pakistan’s full support to meet the objectives of IRENA’s activities and initiatives stating that mainstreaming renewable energy remains a priority for Pakistan, a Spokesperson of the Consulate-General of Pakistan in Dubai confirmed to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).

The ambassador said that the government of Pakistan’s focus is on diversifying energy resources which include hydropower, natural gas, coal and nuclear energy besides the renewables such as solar, wind and biomass energy to meet the growing energy demands of the Country.
The IRENA’s membership comprises 167 Countries and the European Union (EU).
