PESHAWAR: A leader of Awami National Party (ANP) was killed when some unidentified miscreants opened indiscriminate fire after they had barged into her house located in the metropolis area of Hayatabad.
According to police sources, some unidentified miscreants gunned down Hajma Hanif, an ANP leader at her residence located in phase-I in limit of Hayatabad Police Station.
Najma was critically wounded as she was hit in the head. She was rushed to Hayatabad Medical Complex, where she succumbed to her injury.
It should be mentioned here that the ANP leader was set at sixth position by his party on the priority list of the reserved seats for women.
The deceased’s husband Hanif Jadoon, who was former tehsil Nazim, was killed in a suicide bombing on Eidul Adha in November 2011.
