ISLAMABAD:  All Parties Conference of Awami National Party (ANP) starts in Islamabad. All parties will attend except PTI and JI. Only one political party that supports Taliban –Jamiat-i-Ulema Islam (JUI) will attend this conference.
Awami National Party (ANP) is  convening an All Parties Conference today  Feb 14, 2014 in the federal capital to develop consensus strategy to cope with the extremism in the country.
Addressing a press conference here, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Mian Iftikhar Hussain said all parties, except the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Jamaat Islami, would attend the ANP-hosted APC in Islamabad.
Citing the US dialogues with Afghanistan’s Taliban in Qatar, he asserted that the same can happen in Pakistan as well if (Afghan) Taliban could be engaged in negotiations in Qatar.
He also sought the Taliban to name a committee to express their seriousness in talks so that the dialogues could formally be commenced; however, he said it is an achievement that Taliban voiced their willingness in the dialogues.
