- Advises the journalist to follow basic journalistic principles before publishing any news
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Spokesperson said that Ansar Abbasi’s news story pertaining to the PTI protest strategy on the possible arrest of the party Chairman Imran Khan was baseless, misleading, fabricated and against the principles of journalism because it was based on unverified information and lies.
Reacting to the news story of Ansar Abbasi, the PTI Spokesperson said that Ansar Abbasi wrote that after the arrest of Imran Khan, PTI hammered out a strategy to hold a peaceful protest.
However, he added that Ansar Abbasi did not even feel the need to contact any central leader or spokesman of the party to verify the information before publishing the news.
The PTI Spokesperson stated that verification of any news before publication was the main principle of journalism but ironically Ansar Abbasi completely ignored the basic principles of journalism due to his personal grudges against a political party.
It was said that this kind of baseless and fabricated news was nothing but a failed attempt to mislead the nation. According to the party policy, the workers protested peacefully against the arrest of PTI Chairman in a fake case, said the party spokesperson.
The Spokesperson went on to say that there was concrete and irrefutable evidence that rioters were infiltrated among the peaceful protests under a well-thought-out plan.
The PTI Spokesperson said that the party leadership and workers were well aware of Chairman Imran Khan’s orders to stay away from chaos, adding that similar misleading propaganda was done through such false and baseless news on May 9 incidents.
The Spokesperson advised Ansar Abbasi to consult the central leadership of the party before giving any news regarding the party and such propaganda against the party should be stopped through this kind of fabricated news.
