ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A three-day special immunization campaign against polio began Monday in 97 districts across the Country, during which, more than 20 million children up to five years of age will be administered anti-polio vaccine.
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, about 5.6 million children up to five years of age will be administered anti-polio vaccine in 25 districts during the campaign. More than 27,000 teams have been constituted in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, which will visit door-to-door to ensure administering anti-polio drops to each and every child.

Polio teams have also been deployed at bus stops, railway stations, Afghan refugee camps and other public places.
Similarly, all age anti-polio vaccination campaign also started at the Pak-Afghan border in Torkham to eradicate circulation of polio virus between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Likewise, more than 6.1 million children will be vaccinated in 20 districts of Sindh while more than 6.6 million children will be administered anti-polio vaccine in Punjab’s 12 districts.
In Balochistan, more than 1.7 million children up to five years of age would be administered anti-polio drops during the campaign. About 6,000 mobile teams have been constituted for this purpose.
Strict security measures have been taken for security of polio teams.
