ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Senator Anwaar Ul Haq Kakar from Balochistan will be the Interim Prime Minister of Pakistan.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and the Opposition Leader in the National Assembly Raja Riaz reached consensus on the Balochistan Awami Party’s (BAP) Senator Anwaar Ul Haq Kakar for the post in a meeting held in Islamabad on Saturday.

Later, talking to media, Raja Riaz said that the prime minister has agreed to the name, he suggested for the post.
Raja Riaz said that Kakar is a non-controversial personality and enjoys a good repute amongst all the stakeholders. He said that his nomination for the interim prime minister will help alleviate the depreciation of small province like Balochistan.
Meanwhile, President Dr. Arif Alvi approved the appointment of Anwaar Ul Haq Kakar as the Caretaker Prime Minister under Article 224 A of the Constitution.

Anwaar Ul Haq Kakar belongs to the Balochistan Awami Party (BAP), and was elected as the Senator in March 2018. He is also the Chairman of Standing Committee on Overseas Pakistanis and Human Resource Development.
