LAHORE, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Tuesday directed to expedite efforts to unearth complete network of terrorists.

While Chairing a Security Meeting at Corps Headquarters in Lahore, the COAS said that that terrorist of all hue and colour, their masters, financers, planners and abettors including from outside will be hunted across the Country, held accountable and responded to.

“Our gains over the years cannot be reversed,” the COAS said according to the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The meeting was held in the wake of Lahore Suicide Blast which occurred on Monday evening outside the Punjab assembly, leaving top police officials among at least 15 persons dead.

The ISPR said that during the meeting, Commander Corps Lahore Lieutenant General Sadiq Ali and intelligence agencies briefed the COAS on the Lahore blast.

The COAS said that such incidents can neither lower our national resolve nor can affect our ongoing efforts against terrorism.

The Army Chief also appreciated efforts of intelligence agencies in tracing culprits of last night blast which have resulted into important apprehensions overnight including few Afghans.

Talking about its linkage to sabotage forthcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) Final match at Lahore on March 5, the COAS said that Pakistan army will extend full support to all concerned for holding the event as scheduled.

Later, the COAS visited bereaved family of Shaheed Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Traffic Lahore Captain (retd) Syed Ahmad Mobin and offered Fatiha.

Talking to mother of the Shaheed, the COAS said that sacrifice of his brave son and those by the nation shall not go waste.

“We have to defeat this inhuman brutal mindset and as a nation we shall,” the COAS said.

The COAS also expressed his grief and condolences with other bereaved families of the last night blast.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa also visited the injured at Services Hospital in Lahore.
