ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) in Islamabad on Thursday, said a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The COAS appreciated improvement in NUST’s standing at the international level ranking.
The Army Chief said that NUST is a leading University in Pakistan which would have presence in all four provinces after the establishment of its Quetta Campus. He said that NUST is playing a pivotal role in producing a stream of scholars and engineers of highest caliber.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa emphasized on the youth to strive for excellence to always ask themselves what they can do for their Country.
Earlier on his arrival at NUST, the COAS was received by the Rector NUST Lieutenant General (retd) Naveed Zaman.

Later in the day, the British High Commissioner Thomas Drew met the COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the army’s general headquarters in Rawalpindi.
During the meeting, matters of mutual interest including regional security situation were discussed.
The visiting dignitary also pledged to keep working for better relations between Pakistan and United Kingdom.
