ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A month ago, Pakistan witnessed the deadliest terrorist attack in its territory in recent years when a group of militants linked with the outlawed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) stormed an army-run school in northwestern Peshawar city on December 16.
The brutal attack, carried out by nine foreign militants including one Chechen, three Arabs and two Afghans and which left 150 persons mostly school children ranging between 8 and 18 years of age dead, sparked strong worldwide condemnation and outrage.
In connection with the completion of one month since the Peshawar’s Army Public School (APS) attack, vigils are being held on Friday (January 16) across the world including in Pakistan to pay tribute to the victims of December 16 attack.

Ceremonies underway on completion of one month to Peshawar tragedy
Meanwhile, ceremonies are being held at different parts of Pakistan on Friday on completion of one month to Peshawar tragedy.
A spokesman of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) said that three JF-17 thunder jets presented a fly past over the APS Peshawar as a mark to pay homage to the martyrs.
In Lahore, a human chain was also formed at the Army Public School. On this occasion, the parents expressed solidarity with the bereaved families of Peshawar tragedy.
