- Fawad Chaudhry terms army’s behavior highly detrimental, destructive for nation
ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) strongly defended the allegations levelled by the PTI Chairman Imran Khan, asking the military to ‘support’ the legal course and satisfy Imran Khan through transparent inquiry.
In a reaction to the ISPR’s statement on Monday, the PTI Central Secretary General Asad Umer and PTI Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry strongly defended the PTI Chairman and said that the military should carry out transparent investigation into the serious issue to dispel the doubts.
Asad Umar said that the military should ‘support’ the legal course.
“Totally agree with ISPR that a legal recourse should be taken to resolve the allegations,” he said.
Asad went on to say that Imran khan had tried to do that by filing an FIR and approaching the Supreme Court. “The institution supporting that legal recourse would be a very positive step forward,” he added.
In his strong response to the statement, Fawad Chaudhry expressed his shock and said that if Imran Khan believed any officer was involved in the assassination attempt on him, an independent and transparent investigation should be conducted to dispel any doubts.
However, he added, the denial to investigate the allegations and the release of such a press statement implies that the Pakistan Army considered itself above the law in the Country.
Fawad Chaudhry termed this behavior is highly detrimental and destructive for the nation.
