ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar has warned of serious consequences for not adhering to COVID-19 related Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
In a tweet on Tuesday, the minister said that the daily COVID-19 mortality was 12 last week which is a 140 percent increase when compared with previous weeks.
Asad Umar said that we are collectively committing a blunder by recklessly ignoring all the SOPs and the results have started to show.
The minister said that if we do not change our current path, we will lose both lives and livelihoods.

On October 19, 625 more people tested positive for Coronavirus and 14 passed away, according to the National Command & Operation Centre (NCOC).
So far, 323,452 people have been infected by COVID-19 and 6,659 have succumbed to it in Pakistan.
However, a significant number of 307,950 people have recovered now; therefore, the total Active COVID-19 Cases in the Country remain to be 9,461.
To date, Sindh remains to be the most affected province with 141,841 Cases and 2,581 deaths followed by Punjab with 101,652 Cases and 2,298 deaths.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province has so far registered 38,646 Coronavirus Cases and 1,265 deaths, Islamabad 18,069 Cases and 195 deaths, Balochistan 15,688 Cases and 148 deaths, Gilgit-Baltistan 4,059 Cases and 90 deaths, and Azad Kashmir 3,498 Cases and 82 deaths.
