ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Ashura, the 10th of Muharramul Haram, is being observed across the country on Saturday with due solemnity to pay homage to Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) and other martyrs of Karbala.
Alam, Zuljinah and Taazia processions are being taken out in all cities and small towns of the country, a news channel reported.
In Lahore, the main procession will be taken out from the Nisar Havali which after passing through its traditional route, will reach at its destination Karbala Gamay Shah.
The Rawalpindi’s main mourning procession will start from Imambargah Colonel Maqbool Hussain and culminate at Imambargah Qadeemi.
The main procession of Karachi will be taken out from Nishtar Park and culminate at Imambargah Hussainia Iranian.
In Peshawar, over a dozen Alam, Zuljihan and Tazia processions will be taken out. The main procession will be taken out from Qissa Khawani Imam Bargah Alamdaar.
In Quetta, the main procession will be taken out from Alamdar Road. After passing through its traditional route it will end at the same point.
All arrangements including stepped up security have been made for Ashura.
