WASHINGTON: The Foreign Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has emphasized the need to work together for regional peace and stability.
In a meeting with the Assistant to the US President for National Security Affairs Lt. General McMaster at the White House, Khawaja Asif stressed the importance that Pakistan attaches to peace in Afghanistan.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed the bilateral relationship as well as ways in which the two countries could promote mutually beneficial cooperation. They also discussed regional situation particularly Afghanistan.
The foreign minister briefed Assistant to the US President for National Security Affairs about Pakistan’s perspective on the US strategy.
Khawaja Asif is in the United States on a three-day official visit at the invitation of US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson to review Pakistan-US bilateral relationship and regional security situation including Afghanistan and deteriorating Pakistan-India relations.
