Renowned Pakistani singer Atif Aslam has decided to take a break from the music industry and devote much of his time to religion.
Recently, Atif amazed everyone by the recitation of Azaan and 99 Asma-ul-Husna in a soul-stirring voice.
Atif Aslam is going to be the third famous Pakistani singer after Junaid Jamshed, Ali Haider and Najam Sheraz who developed an inclination towards the religion.
Besides recently two prominent faces from the showbiz industry Ali Hamza Abbasi and Feroze Khan also announced to walk down the religious path.
However, Atif is not going to completely leave the music industry as he said that “I want to keep myself attached to my religion while still being part of the world”.
The singer further added that “I feel happy knowing that there are youngsters who are not just listening to my music but are also getting inclined towards these things. But I am still not quitting music.”
Atif also expressed his wish of reciting the Azaan at the Holy Ka’bah in Mecca. He explained that why he decided to recite and record the Azaan.
He said that “I had heard that in Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)’s time when things used to be tough, the people used to go to their roofs and recite the Azaan. That is where the idea came from and without any hesitation or second thoughts, I went ahead with it,”
“A day before recording it, I couldn’t sleep at night and couldn’t contain my excitement. The feeling was beyond words. I never thought I’d be blessed enough to get a chance like this,” The award-winning singer said that “I wouldn’t be here without my parent’s blessings,”
