ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Joint Opposition on Friday blasted the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government for its inability to deliver, and rose their voices seeking Prime Minister Imran Khan’s resignation as their ultimate demand.

Following a tiring but peaceful days-long expedition from Karachi to Islamabad, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) yet managed to set the stage at the Capital’s Centre and succeeded to pull a mammoth gathering from throughout the Country.

Though participants mostly belonged to religious fraternity – which JUI-F basically relies upon as a politico-religious party – but liberal and moderate political parties i.e. Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), and Awami National Party (ANP) also offered their shoulders to Maulana Fazlur Rehman and joined him in the event.

The Jalsa witnessed a series of fiery speeches by the President PML-N Shahbaz Sharif, the Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari & leader Nayyar Bukhari, ANP leaders Mian Iftikhar Hussain & Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, and JUI-F leader Owais Noorani among others.

The Opposition Leaders in their separate addresses lambasted the incumbent government, and said that PTI had turned the lives of common men worse and imposed restrictions on media.

They extended their all-out support to Maulana Fazlur Rehman in his endeavours for the restoration of democratic values in the Country.

Terming Prime Minister Imran Khan a ‘puppet’, the Opposition Leaders demanded his resignation and said that the former was a ‘selected’ Executive Head of the State and he had no moral authority to govern the Country.

The undeterred JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman gave Imran Khan a two-day ultimatum to resign, and also cautioned him that if the latter doesn’t comply with their demands, the rally participants would march towards D Chowk.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman added that they don’t want to indulge in any clash with institutions; therefore, they must exercise their impartiality as well.
