QUETTA, Pakistan: The Balochistan Home Minister Sarfraz Bugti survived a bomb blast which occurred in Dera Bugti area of the province on Friday.
The sources said that the provincial home minister was going to his home town in Bekar area of Dera Bugti when his vehicle hit a mine.
However, Sarfraz Bugti and other persons remained safe but two vehicles suffered damages.
The southwestern Balochistan province has been experiencing violent incidents including bomb blasts and targeted killings for more than a decade. In most of the cases, Baloch separatists and banned terror organizations are found to be behind such attacks.
Earlier this week, five security personnel were dead and two injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) went off in Margat suburb area of Quetta. The security personnel were patrolling the area in their vehicle which struck the IED planted along the roadside.
Besides common people, high profile personalities have also consistently been targeted across the country by the terror outfits as on August 16 last year, the Punjab Home Minister Colonel (retd) Shuja Khanzada was killed in a suicide blast that ripped through the minister’s public office in Attock district.
