ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Though Eid-ul-Azha Celebrations have ended now but Bhara Kahu administration has not yet dumped the remains of sacrificial animals; therefore, fears persists in the town of infectious diseases.

The people said there was an unbearable stench of dead animals all around the town, and even they feel suffocated.

According to Daily Nai Baat, waste of sacrificial animals were still found scattered in Malik Abad, Nai Abbadi, Muhallah Nain Sukh, Muhallah Sayedan, Muhallah Ghulam Muhammad Abad, Toheed Abad, Main Bazaar, Athal Chowk and other areas of Bhara Kahu’s UC-4 and UC-5.

The daily said inadequate arrangements had been made to dispose off the offal of sacrificed animals; therefore, a foul smell polluted the air, making it almost unbearable for local people to breathe easily.

It also reported that the waste of sacrificial animals and foul stench might cause infectious diseases in all affected areas.

While expressing their anguish, people said officials of Union Councils (UCs) merely advertised the cleanliness drive via Cable TV but actually, no concrete step was taken for offal disposal.

The people asked Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and Capital Development Authority (CDA) to dispose off hides of scarified animals and heaps of garbage to prevent breakout of infectious diseases in their areas.
