ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Though situated a few miles away from the Federal Capital and being governed by the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Bhara Kahu is still deprived of basic facilities as its many areas and main roads are found in dilapidated condition.
In Bhera Sayedan area of Bhara Kahu, tattered roads, scarcity of drinking water, and heaps of garbage are making it difficult for local residents to live a comfortable life – free of filthy environment.
Although a Company named ‘Save Environment’ has been established on behalf of the relevant Chairman to ensure proper cleanliness in the area; however, a number of complaints are being registered by the people against the Company.
Besides, main roads of Bhara Kahu including Kiyani road and Col Aman Ullah road are severely damaged while the main Athal Chowk has turned into a bath tub filled with sewage water.
However as per the announcement and subsequent inauguration done by the Minister for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry three months ago, water pipelines are being laid in areas which come under Union Council (UC-5) and whose Chairman is Malik Ishtiaq Ahmed. But the slow pace of work and debris scattered around the digging sites have become yet another addition in a series of troublesome issues being faced by the locals.
Therefore, local residents have appealed to the CADD minister to instruct the Chairmen of relevant UCs to lessen people’s difficulties, and expedite the construction work.
