BlackBerry Announces their First Ever Android Phone Priv

TechnologyBlackBerry Announces their First Ever Android Phone Priv

For every businessman BlackBerry used to mean something. The company however lost traction after refusing to evolve with time and not letting after market development to be done on their devices. As a result, BlackBerry was almost put out of business, or so we thought. In recent news, BlackBerry has just unveiled their latest smart phone called Priv which will be released sometime later this year.

BlackBerry Priv will be a flagship device and will feature a physical keyboard for those who just can’t deal with touch screens. The phone will also be the first one in BlackBerry’s history to use Android operating system in hopes of bringing the extensive app collection of Android to BlackBerry devices.

The important thing to note here is that BlackBerry did try to incorporate better app choices for their users last year when they made a deal with Amazon to include their App Store in their phones. Unfortunately Amazon App Store never really took off and as a result the company was stuck on the same problem it had started with. This time around, the company’s CEO is more hopeful and in an interview said, “I am now going to eliminate apps as an excuse not to buy our phone.”

The BlackBerry Priv has received mixed reactions from the tech community after its unveiling as some are skeptical about a physical keyboard while others are in favor of it. No matter what their point of view is, almost all of them are happy to see BlackBerry move in the right direction.
