Lahore, Pakistan: It was February 27, 2019 when Indian Air Force Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was captured by Pakistan Army after his Mig21 was shot down by Pakistan Air Force.

Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman was born on June 21 and married his colleague Tanvi Marwaha who retired from Indian Air Force as Squadron Leader. They have one son.

Father of Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman is also veteran of Indian Air Force and served as AOC-in-C of the Eastern Air Command on August 1, 2011. He joined the IAF as a fighter pilot in 1973. His service number in Indian Air Force is 27981 and he belongs to Chennai.
