QUETTA, Pakistan: A blast took place near the Balochistan University on Quetta’s on Saryab road on Monday which left a policeman martyred while seven persons suffered injuries.
The Spokesman of the Balochistan government Liaquat Shahwani said that the explosive material was placed in a motorcycle and it targeted a police truck parked at the gate of the Balochistan University.
Liaquat Shahwani confirmed that one policeman was martyred and seven persons including four passerbys were injured in the blast.
The Spokesman said that miscreants involved in the blast would be brought to justice.

Separately, the Provincial Home Minister Mir Ziaullah Langau said that a police vehicle was targeted in the blast. He said that the security officials and policemen have reached the blast site.
Meanwhile, an emergency has been declared at Civil Hospital Quetta, according to the Medical Superintendent (MS).
The MS said that doctors and staff have been called immediately to deal with the emergency.
