MASTUNG, Pakistan: Reportedly, at least 52 people including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) were killed while more than 50 sustained injuries when an explosion took place in Balochistan’s Mastung district on Friday.
Taking to the media, the Assistant Commissioner Mastung Ataullah Muneem told that the blast occurred near Madina Masjid at Al Falah Road.Ataullah Muneem told that the explosion took place when the people were gathering for an Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) procession.
The injured were shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital.
It’s worth noting that Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAWW) is being celebrated across the Country today with profound religious zeal and fervour.
Meanwhile, the Interior Minister Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti strongly condemned the blast in Mastung, expressing deep sorrow and regret over the loss of precious lives.
The interior minister said that the attack on innocent people who came to participate in the Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH) procession is a very heinous act. He said that terrorists have no religion or faith.
Sarfaraz Ahmed Bugti said that all resources will be used in rescue and relief operations. He said that no effort will be spared in treating the injured.
The minister further said that terrorist elements don’t deserve any leniency, adding that zero tolerance policy is being followed to deal with them.
