QUETTA, Pakistan: The insurgency-hit southwestern Balochistan province was once again rocked by a bomb blast on Tuesday, targeting mostly police personnel.
The blast took place outside the Balochistan University at Sariyab Road in Quetta on Tuesday afternoon in which two policemen lost their lives while five other received wounds.
“Two policemen were killed and five people including three policemen were injured in the blast,” the Balochistan Home Minister Sarfaraz Bugti told media.
The injured persons were admitted in Civil Hospital Quetta where they were being provided medical treatment.
Meanwhile, President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan strongly condemned the Quetta blast and directed the authorities concerned to provide best possible medical treatment to those injured in the despicable incident.
In their separate statements, they also prayed for the departed souls and commiserated with the bereaved families.
