Blast in Quetta leave one dead, 13 injured

QUETTA, Pakistan: A remote-controlled bomb planted in a car went off near Sirki road in Quetta on Thursday morning, killing at least one person and injuring 13 others including two children.

The bomb disposal squad said that 40 to 50 kilograms of explosive material was used in the blast.

The blast also caused damage to two school vans and nearby shops while windowpanes of nearby buildings were also broken.

The injured were shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta where according to doctors, two of the injured were in critical condition.

The law enforcement agencies reached the blast site and cordoned off the area while an investigation into the incident went underway.

Earlier on Tuesday, the advisor to the Balochistan Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik on education Sardar Raza Muhammad Barech escaped a bomb blast that took place at the Joint road in Quetta.

However, two persons were injured in that blast.
