NASEERABAD: At least seven persons including two women were killed and 16 others injured when an explosion struck a Quetta-bound Jaffar Express in Naseerabad district of restive Balochistan province on Monday.
The explosion took place inside the train when it reached near Shori railway station in Balochistan’s Naseerabad district. The blast also caused damage to at least four bogies of the passenger train which was going to Quetta from Rawalpindi.
Police, rescue teams and district administration authorities rushed to the blast site. Officials said five coaches were damaged in the powerful blast.
Bomb disposal squad was called from Dera Murad Jamali to determine the nature of the blast, while the injured were shifted to civil hospital Quetta.
