This year the theme of the Bestival  is all about Superheroes – the superhuman traits, that have been dreamed and written about since time immemorial. It dates back to the Greek and Roman superheroes like Hercules, Odysseus, and now with science fiction rampant in the 20th century we have the X- men, Iron Man, Superman, Batman etc. There has always been a conflict of good and evil, and we all learn in the end of all superhero fables that good invariably stands victorious, and evil is defeated. BNU is celebrating the victory of good, of strength and of fighting for something larger than life. Human history is full of rampant examples of superheroes; they revolve in our religious stories; there is always a messiah, a prophet, a god or god-like human who is able to defeat plague, storms, sea monsters, evil twins, pharaohs, the underground etc.
The students at BNU and all the participants from different institutes are very much energetic and doing their best to proof themselves in the different events going on. Day 1 and 2 included events like stand-up Comedy, dramatics, photography, gaming, futsal, video production, poetry and prose.
