MUMBAI, India: The versatile Indian actor Irrfan Khan has passed away at a hospital in Mumbai, the Indian media reports said.
The actor was 53, and he was admitted to the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai on Tuesday as he had been battling with the colon infection since 2018.
However, he couldn’t survive and breathed his last. His mother died last week and he could not attend the funeral because of knockdown in India.
The news about his deaths was revealed by the Filmmaker Shoojit Sircar in a tweet.

Irrfan Khan featured in a number of superhit movies i.e. Paan Singh Tomar’, ‘The Lunchbox’, ‘Maqbool’ and ‘Piku’. He also worked in the Academy Award-winning film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.
His last film was ‘Angrezi Medium’ which hit the screen on March 13; however, it was affected by the nationwide lockdown imposed the mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
