ISLAMABAD: The Senate Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs has been informed that a breakthrough is expected within a week in investigations into the killing of foreign mountaineers at the base camp of Nanga Parbat last month.
Briefing the Committee‚ which met in Islamabad under Haji Adeel‚ the Chief Secretary Gilgit Baltistan said 10 out of the 12-member mountaineers group were killed in the attack.
He said we have reached close to the murderers and 4 people involved in the terror incident have already been arrested with the cooperation of the people of Diamer.
The Chief Secretary said the elements involved in sectarian terrorism are behind the attack on the foreign tourists.
