ISLAMABAD: Announcing the budget 2013-14‚ Finance Minister says government is laying the foundation of sound economy.
The first budget of the newly elected democratic dispensation with total outlay of 3.591 trillion rupees has been presented in the National Assembly on Wednesday (June12).
The new budget unveils economic vision to steer the country out of prevailing crisis besides various relief measures for the poor and low income groups.
Announcing the budget‚ Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said keeping in view the development needs‚ investment requirements of the country and urgency of creating additional job opportunities‚ adequate development sources have been provided.
Speaking about the future plan of taking the country out of different challenges‚ he said the government is laying the foundation of sound economy.
He said the PML-N government wants to encourage overall economic activity and create conducive environment to facilitate investors and business that would help create employment opportunities.
Announcing measures for arresting inflationary pressures‚ the Finance Minister said reduction in fiscal deficit will have salutary effect on inflation.
He said regular price monitoring will be undertaken with a view to ensure adequate supplies of all commodities.
Ishaq Dar said the government is determined to fully reform and restructure public sector corporations.
The Minister said privatization programme will be revived to create more opportunities for the private sector to invest and manage newer assets.
