KUALA LUMPUR: At least 33 persons were killed when a passenger bus plunged into a deep ravine while travelling downhill near a Malaysian highland resort on Wednesday, an official said.
The accident on a winding slope in central Genting Highlands, a popular destination that houses Malaysia’s sole casino.
The fire department official Azizan Ismail said that the bus, which had been heading to Kuala Lumpur, was carrying mostly Malaysians and several tourists believed to be from the Middle East, adding the 16 people survived the accident.
