ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The O and A level exams of Cambridge have been postponed while all examinations to be conducted by the Federal and Provincial Boards have also been postponed amid the threat posed by the Novel Coronavirus Outbreak in the Country.
The decision in this regard was taken in a meeting presided over by the Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood in Islamabad on Tuesday to review the latest situation arising out of the Pandemic.
In his Twitter statement, Shafqat Mahmood said that in his meeting with the Provincial Education Ministers and Senior Education Officials, it was decided that O and A level exams of Cambridge, which were to be held in May and June 2020, would be postponed. He said that Cambridge will announce new dates of O and A level exams.
The minister clarified that the Head of Cambridge in Pakistan Ms Uzma Yousaf was also present in the meeting when the above decision was taken.

It was also decided that re-examinations to be conducted by the Federal and Provincial Boards would also be postponed and now would be held between June 1 and July 15, 2020, the minister said. He said that the exact time table of the examinations would be issued later on by each board.
Furthermore, Shafqat Mahmood apprised that the Higher Education Commission (HEC) shared in the meeting that due to delay in the board exams, Universities would also delay their admissions to October 2020.
