ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The outgoing Canadian High Commissioner in Islamabad Perry John Calderwood has said that the Canadian government is very keen to expand bilateral trade and investment relations with Pakistan.
Talking to the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Monday, Calderwood said that in this regard, the Canadian government has appointed a full time Trade Commissioner in Islamabad who will work closely with the business community for achieving desired goals.
Perry John Calderwood also congratulated the foreign minister on assuming office and briefed him about the ongoing Canadian assistance programs in Pakistan.

The foreign minister appreciated the contributions of the outgoing Canadian High Commissioner in the improvement of Pakistan-Canada relations and wished him good luck for his future assignment.
Given the potential of the bilateral relationship between Pakistan and Canada, it was agreed to have enhanced engagement at the political and senior officials level.
