BAGHDAD: At least 26 people were killed and over 60 were wounded in a series of car bomb explosions targeting Shi’ite Muslims in markets in Iraq on Friday, police and hospital sources said.
A car bomb went off inside a bird market, followed by a second blast just 100 meters (yards) away around one minute later in the Shi’ite district of Kadhimiya in the capital Baghdad killing 13 people.
While in the Shi’ite city of Hilla, 100 km (60 miles) south of the capital, two car bomb explosions occurred at a vegetable market in which 13 more people died.
