ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Caretaker Prime Minister Nasir-ul-Mulk on Friday said he would work according to the mandate given to him, and holding of transparent elections would be his top and foremost priority.

The 67-year-old Justice (retd) Nasir-ul-Mulk took oath as the Country’s 7th Caretaker Prime Minister at a simple but impressive ceremony at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad today.

Holding informal talks with media representatives after his oath taking ceremony, Justice (retd) Nasir-ul-Mulk said the general elections would held on time.

The Caretaker Prime Minister said today was my first day at job and he was starting work right away.

In reply to a question, he said the size of the Federal Cabinet would be small.

The oath taking ceremony of the Caretaker Prime Minister was attended by senior officials and dignitaries including the former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, the Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani, Governors, Three Services Chiefs and ambassadors.

The general elections across the Country are scheduled on July 25, 2018 and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has issued a detailed schedule in this regard.
