ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and the Chairman of the Board of TAPI Pipeline Company Limited (TPCL) Mr. Muhammetmyrat Amanov met the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Islamabad on Wednesday.
Mr. Muhammetmyrat Amanov apprised the foreign minister about the progress in the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) natural gas pipeline project.
The CEO TPCL also told the foreign minister that the negotiations are successfully underway between Pakistan and the TAPI Company for the finalization of the agreement from the Host Country.
The foreign minister said that it’s part of their priorities to ensure the protection of oil and gas provision.
Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that energy is very important for advancing the national economy; therefore, the incumbent government is paying special attention to the energy sector for economic development. He said that the TAPI gas pipeline would help cater the growing needs of energy.
The foreign minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment for ensuring prompt implementation of TAPI gas pipeline project, and promoting the cooperation with Turkmenistan in the energy sector.
