PESHAWAR, Pakistan: The Islamabad-based Center for Global and Strategic Studies (CGSS) and the Area Study Centre at University of Peshawar have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in research, educational and scientific areas.

The MoU was signed by the Executive Director CGSS Lieutenant Colonel (retd) Khalid Taimur Akram and the Director University of Peshawar’s Area Study Centre Professor Dr Shabbir Ahmed.

Under the MoU, it was decided that both institutes will cooperate in research, educational and scientific areas within the framework of the programs and activities.

The two parties will work together to promote joint research projects on subjects of common interest and exchange of relevant scientific literature and other research documents between both organizations.

Meanwhile, the Executive Director CGSS Lt Colonel (retd) Khalid Taimur Akram delivered a lecture on “Pakistan, A land of Opportunities for Central Asian Countries” at the Weekly Interactive Session at Area Study Centre, University of Peshawar.

The lecture was followed by an interactive question and answer session having the participation of the faculty members and PhD/M.Phil Scholars of the University of Peshawar.

The session highlighted the significance of Pakistan for the Central Asian states and the prospects of future regional connectivity. The session aimed at motivating and encouraging the researchers to further expand their area of study regarding the regional mega projects.
